Antique Cast Iron Industrial Gear |
Very excited about the recent acquisition of these
antique industrial numbered gears. From the 1800s, they’re made of thick cast iron with curving spokes and a wide face of triangular teeth. Their original black painted finish has over a century-old patina with a thick layer of dirt and oils as would accumulate over the decades, confirming their role in American history.
To show off their form, I’ve handcrafted primitive stands from reclaimed old lumber, allowing the gear to be removed for handheld admiration and placement at whatever angle you desire.
